We had the pleasure to redesign, refresh and update DJ Mike Hogan’s website, including the challenging task of importing over 500+ Blogger blog posts into WordPress. With over 20+ years of experience, DJ Mike Hogan is an award winning Disc Jockey and Professional Master of Ceremonies who specializes in entertaining the social and corporate world alike. With so many event companies, it is important to have an updated website and stay relatable. We were able to organize and reformat his blogs / portfolio as well as make each page consistent and uniform in addition to creating some new services pages for him.
Importing 500+ Blogger Posts into WordPress Blog
Mike spent almost a decade racking up over 500 posts on the popular blogging platform “Blogger”. Blogger has been a great blogging platform, but the biggest drawback is that it’s technically a different website as it’s managed on a separate platform. It is advantageous for many reasons to keep all of your blogging integrated with your main website so one of the tasks with this website redesign was to export all of the posts and import them into the website blog. Through the use of some advanced export/import techniques, along with some manual labor (to update the featured images) we successfully imported all 500+ posts from Blogger to WordPress. We were able to maintain the category and tag structure / hierarchy as well.
WordPress Feature: Game Show Page
The one thing that was missing from Mike’s old website was his “Game Show” offerings. TV shows are still prominent because people love them. Mike’s business offers 3 of the greatest shows ever: Jeopardy, Family Feud, and American Idol. The purpose of this page was to show people that the DJ service is not the only thing DJ Mike Hogan can do! This page shows videos and gives descriptions of each show; perfect for corporate events, team building, holiday parties, rehearsal dinners and, of course, even a wedding!
